Saving CeeCee Honeycutt Read-Along Day Five

Read-Along Day 5:   Chapters 9-10 pgs. 92-115

We made it through the week!  I hope you are enjoying this book as much as we have.  If you have kept up with the reading you have now finished 10 chapters of this remarkable book.  If you haven't, don't worry.  We won't be reading over the weekend so you will have plenty of time to catch up.  Happy reading and we look forward to seeing you back here on Monday!

Discussion Starters:
  1. How does Oletta compare her experience of losing her Pappy with CeeCee’s reaction to losing her mother?
  2. Tootie believes that they are living in a “throwaway society”. Have things changed in 50 years?
  3. Does CeeCee think that the old house is worth saving?
  4. CeeCee ponders her mother’s fate; if she had found her fire would she still be alive?
  5. CeeCee receives a letter from Mrs. O and a camera from Aunt Tootie. How did each contribute to her healing?
  6. Why is Rosa’s purple velvet sofa a symbol of freedom? Why was it a good place to get over the Stan experience?

How the Read-Along Works

Each day we will read a section of the book Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman together. After reading each section, please feel free to comment, and add your thoughts about the book. The more input, the better this works! Comment as little or as much as you want, and feel free to stray from the discussion starters if you have something else about the book you really want to discuss. Most importantly, have fun as we read this book together!
