Saving CeeCee Honeycutt Read-Along Day 11

Read-Along Day 11:   Chapters 21-22 pg.  217-232

Welcome back for our third and final week of the Saving CeeCee Honeycutt read-along.  I hope you are enjoying reading this book, and reading it with us.  We will finish the book this Friday, just in time for the author visit to Kokomo.  I would encourage all of you to join us on Friday to listen to Beth Hoffman talk about her book and her writing.  Now on to the read-along!

Discussion Starters:
  1. Miz Goodpepper and her Grandmother remind CeeCee of her own mother by their eccentricities. Do you think there is an answer to CeeCee’s question, “What’s the difference between eccentric and crazy?”
  2. How does Tootie handle her feelings when CeeCee tells about the incident of her mother gluing her father’s pants zipper.
  3. Why is CeeCee afraid of going to a private school?
  4. At the peach farm, CeeCee experiences an “accidental kind of happiness” with the sweet scents of earth and peaches. How does this shift to grief?

Other comments on this section...

For tomorrow we will be reading Chapters 23-24 pg.  233-252

***Please note that page numbers come from the paperback version of the book.  Other versions may have different page numbers.

How the Read-Along Works

Each day we will read a section of the book Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman together. After reading each section, please feel free to comment, and add your thoughts about the book. The more input, the better this works! Comment as little or as much as you want, and feel free to stray from the discussion starters if you have something else about the book you really want to discuss. Most importantly, have fun as we read this book together!
